Washington, July 6 /Xinhua/ — U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Monday that the end of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which has been ongoing for five years, is “much closer than people think.”
“He /President of Russia Vladimir Putin/ wants to end this, and Ukraine wants that too. We are negotiating and will see if we can do it. I believe we are much closer than people think,” the American leader said while speaking with journalists.
D. Trump clarified that his administration maintains contacts with both Russia and Ukraine, seeking to facilitate the cessation of the conflict between them. This issue is also on the agenda of the upcoming NATO summit.
