Reconstruction of the Karamyshevskaya embankment continues in the northwest of the capital. The work is planned to be completed this year. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy and Construction.Vladimir Efimov.Â
“Until recently, the Karamyshevskaya embankment represented a small underutilized territory, in connection with which a decision was made to reconstruct it. Shore reinforcement, reconstruction of the existing pier, and the arrangement of bicycle and jogging paths, as well as recreation areas and children’s playgrounds, will be carried out on the embankment. As a result, new routes will appear there, including for low-mobility population groups, and the functional filling of the embankment will be expanded. The adjacent territory will be landscaped. Currently, the work is 15 percent complete, and the project is planned to be fully implemented this year,” noted Vladimir Efimov.
During reconstruction, local restrictions are introduced on mechanized construction work, and safe passage for residents will also be ensured.
“The prerequisites for the start of reconstruction of the Karamyshevskaya embankment were the absence of pedestrian crossings and comfortable passages to the embankment from the residential development side, unsafe access to the water, poor lighting, and, as a result, potentially hazardous stay and movement of citizens. Currently, specialists are strengthening slopes and performing drilling works to stabilize landslides.””The development of trenches for laying engineering communications with subsequent installation of pedestrian paths” has also begun,” added the head of the Department of Transport and Engineering Infrastructure Construction of the city of Moscow.Vasily Desyatkov.Â
Karamyshevskaya embankment is located on the left bank of the Moskva River, in the Khoroshevo-Mnevniki district of the North-Western administrative district. The embankment runs from the 3rd Silikatny passage to Karamyshevsky passage. It is crossed by Narodnogo Opolcheniya Street, which behind the Karamyshevsky bridge leads to Nizhnie Mnevniki Street. On the right side of the embankment, Damyan Bedny and Salyam Adil streets adjoin. Part of the embankment is used by local residents as a recreation area.
