At the Institute of Medicine and Medical Technologies (IMMT) of NSU, the graduation diplomas were awarded. The first to graduate were specialists in “General Medicine.” This program at NSU is known for its unique integration of fundamental science and clinical practice. The university provides a deep understanding of biological mechanisms, supported by internships at leading clinics and research institutes of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. This year, 83 graduates completed the specialty “General Medicine.” These are future doctors; 16 of them received diplomas with honors, which is a fairly high indicator. All graduates successfully passed the state final certification, receiving grades of “excellent” and “good.”

On the same day, 54 residents received their diplomas. At NSU, the graduation was in 14 residency specialties: obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, oncology, neurology, neurosurgery, anesthesiology and resuscitation, endocrinology, gastroenterology, cardiology, rheumatology, dermatovenereology, urology, radiology, and therapy. Residency at the Institute of Medicine and Medical Technologies of NSU is valued for its deep integration with the scientific centers of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and its strong clinical base. It provides a solid start for doctors focused on evidence-based medicine, research work, and high academic standards.

The first skill that is underestimated among graduates is the ability to be creative, because now medicine is being made technological, algorithmized, and based on some pre-predicted actions. The next day, bachelor’s and master’s degrees were awarded to the 22nd graduating class of the Psychology program. This year, 33 bachelors graduated, 6 of whom received diplomas with honors, as well as 13 masters, one of whom received a diploma with honors.
The program is supported by a strong natural science foundation and integration with institutes of the SB RAS, offering in-depth practical training and early placement in specialized fields from the first years. Psychosomatics, basics of psychotherapy, and family psychology are studied in depth. Students undergo internships in psychiatric hospitals and medical centers.

Leonid:
—Today I am feeling joy from completing a long phase of education. There is also an awareness of great responsibility toward patients. In the future, I see myself as a practicing doctor in a hospital. I plan to complete residency training and regularly improve my qualifications. I do not rule out the possibility of combining clinical work with teaching or participating in clinical research. I want to become a competent specialist, in demand in my field, and maintain a balance between work and personal life.
Maria:
—I plan to stay in Novosibirsk, pursue corporate psychology, and enroll in the master’s program at NSU. I advise applicants and first-year students to master mathematical statistics and not to miss seminars, because this will be very useful to you. Make sure to attend personal therapy yourself, as you need to learn the profession in practice, and not necessarily in the role of a psychologist. And remember, a diploma is not the finish line, but a ticket to a world where you will be learning all your life, so get enough sleep now while you still have time.
Darya:
—My biggest fear in my first year was that I would never learn to separate my emotions from others’ and would burn out, but practice under supervision and personal therapy showed me that fatigue is not a weakness, but a signal, and I learned to listen to it. And as a beginner specialist, I promise myself never to use my diploma to hide behind terminology, and to honestly tell the client: “I don’t know, but we will find the answer together.” I also promise myself to undergo professional development every year and not be afraid to admit mistakes—they teach better than success!
