Every year on July 1, Russia celebrates the professional holiday of restoration industry specialists. It was established in 2006 on the anniversary of the creation of the legendary Leningrad Architectural Restoration Workshops, which revived many monuments in the city on the Neva and its suburbs that had seemed lost during the war years.

Today, one of the recognized centers for training specialists in this profession and conducting scientific research on the preservation of historical and cultural monuments isDepartment of Architectural and Urban Heritage at SPbGASU. Our teachers, students, and alumni have numerous complex projects and the development of new technologies for the restoration industry to their credit. There iscorporate department of KGIOP for restoration and renovation of architectural heritage. In addition, starting this year, the university’s faculty of construction will begintraining of restoration engineers.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this noble cause on Restorer’s Day – a celebration of those who carefully preserve and bring back to life invaluable architectural and cultural heritage. May each restored object become a bridge between the past and the future, telling its unique stories. We wish you inspiration, patience, and new creative successes!
