Islamabad, June 23 /Xinhua/ — Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif stated here on Tuesday that a ceasefire has been reached between the USA and Iran, and expressed hope that the ongoing negotiations will lead to a comprehensive and long-term agreement within 60 days.

Speaking at the National Assembly / the lower house of the country’s parliament, Sh. Sharif called this progress “historic” and said that Pakistan played a mediating role in efforts to overcome disagreements between Tehran and Washington.

The Prime Minister also reported that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will arrive in Islamabad on Tuesday, and Pakistan and Iran will conduct comprehensive negotiations on several issues.
