Pyongyang, June 23 /Xinhua/ — The supreme leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) promised to strengthen the national defense potential at an important meeting of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), the Central Korean Information Agency (CTAK) reported on Tuesday.
The General Secretary of the CPC Kim Jong Un made this statement at the second plenary session of the Central Committee of the CPC of the ninth term, held from June 20 to 22.
According to him, the USA and the Republic of Korea “are increasingly openly taking steps to strengthen and modernize the armed forces in the region,” including supporting the Republic of Korea’s aspiration to create submarines with nuclear installations.
