Negotiations between the United States and Iran in Switzerland are progressing towards the conclusion of a final agreement — Prime Minister of Pakistan

Islamabad, June 22 /Xinhua/ — Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif stated on Monday that the first high-level talks held under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding were successfully completed at the Swiss resort of Buergenstock, and the participants agreed on a roadmap to achieve a final agreement within 60 days.

In his statement, Sh. Sharif noted that the discussions took place in a positive and constructive atmosphere and led to encouraging progress, including the creation of a high-level committee to ensure political oversight and the start of further negotiations at the technical level.

The Prime Minister thanked the leadership of the United States and Iran for their unchanged commitment to constructive interaction, calling it an important step forward in the diplomatic process.

Sh. Sharif also thanked the friendly countries for supporting the negotiations and their role in creating the conditions that allowed the discussions to advance. –0–
