On June 8, a round table was held at our university on the topic “Implementation of the main professional educational program (OPOP) at SPbGASU in the training direction 40.03.01 Jurisprudence: problems and prospects of using artificial intelligence (AI).” Participants discussed the possibilities of integrating AI into the training of future lawyers, issues of legal regulation of new technologies, and the prospects and use in professional practice.
In addition to specialists from SPbGASU, representatives of leading educational organizations of St. Petersburg took part in the round table: the Russian State Pedagogical University named after A. I. Herzen, the Russian State University of Justice named after V. M. Lebedev, the St. Petersburg branch of the Russian Customs Academy, the St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, as well as fourth-year students of the Faculty of Forensic Expertise and Law in Construction and Transport of SPbGASU, studying in the field of “Jurisprudence.”
The discussion included the participation of the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Forensic Expertise and Law in Construction and Transport, Candidate of Legal SciencesElena Ivanova,deputy dean for career guidanceMargarita Sapozhnikova,head of the department of legal regulation of urban planning activities and transport, Doctor of Juridical Science, professorNikolay Zhilskiy,and also representatives of the Baltic Interregional Bar Association of St. Petersburg. The organizer of the round table was the head of the Department of Jurisprudence, Doctor of Economics, Associate ProfessorIrina Borodushko,Head of OPOP “Jurisprudence”.
Participants discussed modern approaches to the use of artificial intelligence in educational activities, the advantages and risks of implementing digital technologies in legal practice, as well as the necessity of developing competencies among future specialists that allow effective and responsible application of AI in professional activities.
According to the results of the round table, the participants noted that the development of artificial intelligence technologies opens up new opportunities for improving legal education and law enforcement practice. Along with this, the successful implementation of such solutions requires further scientific reflection, improvement of the regulatory and legal framework, and active inter-university cooperation.
