As part of the IV International Scientific and Practical Conference “Transport Accessibility of the Arctic: Networks and Systems,” a session of the section “Innovative Technologies and Equipment” was held, dedicated to modern engineering solutions for the transport sector, construction, and operation of equipment in the Arctic zone.

The work of the section united teachers, graduate students, and young scientists who presented the results of scientific research related to improving the reliability of technology, enhancing equipment diagnostic methods, and adapting engineering systems for operation under low temperature conditions.

One of the discussion directions was geotechnical technologies and issues of interaction between building structures and soil masses. Participants presented research results dedicated to the features of precast concrete structures operation and the influence of their geometric parameters on the effectiveness of soil reinforcement.

Special attention was given by those gathered to ensuring the operability of transport and technological machines in the northern region. Approaches to diagnostics of power units of road construction equipment were considered, including the use of acoustic methods for controlling the technical condition of engines. According to the authors of the studies, the use of sound analysis can become one of the promising directions for express diagnostics of equipment operating at a remote facility in the Arctic.

Participants of the section also discussed natural-climatic, organizational, and operational factors affecting the technical readiness of machines and equipment. Specialists noted that improving the reliability of machines requires a comprehensive approach, including the improvement of technical maintenance, logistics of spare parts, and monitoring systems.

A separate block of presentations was dedicated to issues of safety and working conditions of transport technology operators. The focus was on research of vibration effects arising during the operation of equipment in low temperature conditions. Specialists concluded that it is necessary to study in more depth the influence of road surface, tire characteristics, and operation of power units on the level of vibration load experienced by machine operators.

In one of the studies, a comparative analysis was given of mechanical, hydraulic, chemical, and combined methods for cleaning concrete mixing equipment from residues of hardened concrete mixtures.

Another topic of the section was technologies for servicing engineering communications. The participants reviewed existing methods of cleaning pipelines from technological deposits, discussed their advantages and limitations, as well as prospects for improving equipment for the operation of engineering systems.

According to the section, the speakers noted that the operation of equipment in the northern region requires consideration of specific climatic factors. Low temperatures affect the properties of materials, the operation of hydraulic systems, engines, and other equipment components, which necessarily must be taken into account both when designing the equipment and in organizing its maintenance.

Experts paid special attention to the scientific novelty of developments and possibilities for their implementation in real production conditions.
