Dear colleagues!
Welcome to the participants, guests, and organizers of the anniversary Summer Congress “Plastic, Reconstructive Surgery and Cosmetology.”
Each year, your forum gathers more and more specialists. Over 6 thousand participants from dozens of countries and practically all regions of Russia — these are not just numbers. This is a clear confirmation that Russian healthcare is developing and confidently asserting itself at the international level.
The head of state, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, has set a task for us to increase the expected life expectancy to 78 years by 2030. It is important for us that these years be active. Therefore, we are shifting the focus of attention from treating already arisen diseases to health management, to the identification of risk factors when nothing yet hurts, but the factors are already working against the body.
Plastic and reconstructive surgery today is an important resource of the healthcare system for treating injuries, allowing the solution of medical rehabilitation tasks. It refers to restorative operations after oncological diagnoses, treatment of severe wounds and burns, assistance to patients with congenital defects. Reconstructive surgery returns a person to a full life after severe injuries and surgeries.
Aesthetic medicine and cosmetology help eliminate external skin defects. Together, you extend the active phase of a person’s life, return psychological comfort and confidence to them, so the state sees you as reliable partners.
Issues of advanced training, continuous medical education today are at the center of our attention. We understand that for the system to work, a doctor must feel support, must have the opportunity to exchange experience and learn new things. Your congress is a place for interaction between surgeons and cosmetologists, for analyzing complex clinical cases and discussing new technologies. Here, at the Tavrichesky Palace, we see a dialogue of theory and practice, which is so valuable for the entire healthcare system.
Of course, we live in an era of advanced technologies. Artificial intelligence, surgical robots are in operation. But no matter how perfect machines become, the final decision and responsibility for the patient always lies with the doctor. No algorithm can replace professional intuition and human involvement.
Dear colleagues, I wish you fruitful work, interesting discussions, and, of course, new achievements for the benefit of the health of our citizens!
