The delegation from the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications of SPbPU paid a working visit to the Russian-Armenian University. The delegation included the scientific director of the institute Sergey Makarov, the deputy director of the institute Maksim Vinnichenko, and associate professor Andrei Rashich.
The key event was the official meeting with the RAU leadership, at which the results of implementing the joint roadmap for 2024–2025 were summarized. Taking into account the high effectiveness of cooperation, the universities promptly agreed and began to develop plans for the next two-year period of 2026–2027.
Special attention from the meeting participants was given to scientific and technical projects. The main topic was progress in the preparation for the launch of a small spacecraft (nanosatellite) “Academician V. Ambartsumyan.” Young researchers and students from both universities are working together on the creation of this spacecraft within the framework of an open joint laboratory for signal reception and transmission. Colleagues also discussed the results of the laboratory’s work, within the framework of which it was possible to receive telemetry from a recently launched satellite developed by the Polytechnic.This confirms the high level of technical readiness of the parties for the implementation of space experiments.
Maxim Vinnichenko conducted an advanced seminar for senior students and graduate students of RAS on current issues in semiconductor physics. In addition, he discussed with colleagues the organizational details of the XXVIII All-Russian Youth Conference on Semiconductor Physics and Nanostructures, Semiconductor Optoelectronics and Nanoelectronics, which will be held at the end of November this year. As a result of the negotiations, a working group was formed, a program committee for reviewing reports was approved, and an online format list of invited speakers — leading Russian and international experts — was agreed upon.
Andrey Rashich, known for his developments in the field of embedded systems, shared with colleagues from Yerevan a unique experience of conducting lessons on programming PLIS (programmable logic integrated circuits). He highlighted the success story of implementing these skills both as an educational process and in real research projects.
Sergey Makarov discussed the participation of RAU representatives in the prestigious SPIE conference “Electrical Engineering and Photonics” and gave a number of recommendations aimed at improving the quality of joint publications to the level of journals indexed in Scopus.
The work of the joint dissertation council on the specialty “Radiotechnics, including television systems and devices” was also discussed. The universities noted the successful experience of defenses in 2025 and have already planned new dissertation defenses for 2026.
It is important to emphasize that all the listed activities are being implemented, including within the framework of the state project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia. The project is aimed at increasing the efficiency of Russian-national (Slavic) universities’ activities in personnel training for the digital economy through the development of research programs, additional education, and advanced training, including with the use of modern distance technologies.
