Specialistsurban economy complexMore than 1.4 million water quality studies have been conducted since the beginning of this year. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement.Petr Biryukov.
“Currently, the state of the capital’s water is analyzed according to the maximum number of physical, chemical, and biological indicators — a total of over 200. The quality of the water is controlled throughout its entire movement — at the water source, at the water treatment station, and in the distribution network. Since the beginning of the year, more than 1.4 million various studies have been conducted, and once again, it has been confirmed that the water supplied to the taps of Muscovites meets all requirements and standards,” noted the deputy mayor.
Every day Moscow consumes almost three million cubic meters of water, and about 13 thousand kilometers of water supply networks have been laid in the capital. This complex system requires constant monitoring and, if necessary, prompt adjustment of parameters. Devices monitor changes in the main indicators of water composition around the clock. Data from analyzers are sent to a unified information system, with the help of which specialists can quickly make decisions regarding changes in technological water treatment modes.
In addition to laboratory studies, more than 600 automatic control devices help monitor water quality in real time. The results and analyses are transmitted to the capital’s social and hygienic monitoring system.
