New York, May 29 /Xinhua/ — The United States has imposed sanctions on the Iranian procurement network under the American campaign “Economic Fury.” This was reported on Friday by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

The press release from the administration states that an Iranian, through his company, posed as a representative of a small US business in order to purchase prohibited goods from other American small enterprises for the Ministry of Defense and the logistical support of the Armed Forces of Iran and other Iranian end-users, against whom sanctions have been imposed.

OFAC has added several more individuals to the sanctions list who, according to the administration, helped this person organize the supply of American goods to Iran.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Treasury imposed sanctions against the Persian Gulf Control Office — an Iranian agency that regulates shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
