Almaty, May 26 /Xin Hua/ — Nearly 90 thousand state educational grants will be allocated to Kazakhstani students in 2026 with a priority for engineering, IT, agricultural, pedagogical, and natural science fields. This was reported on Tuesday by the Kazinform news agency with reference to the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek.

According to the minister, about 75 thousand grants were allocated for the bachelor’s level, 11 thousand for the master’s, and 3 thousand for the doctoral level. The distribution of grants is synchronized with the forecast of the country’s economic needs until 2030.

According to the forecast, Kazakhstan will require more than 883 thousand specialists, including almost 530 thousand engineering personnel, more than 185 thousand teaching staff, and about 168 thousand workers in other industries, noted S. Nurbek.

As reported by the minister, in 2026 the number of graduates from higher education institutions in Kazakhstan will amount to almost 193 thousand — this is one of the largest graduating classes in recent years. –0–
