Xi’an, May 26 /Xinhua/ — From May 21 to 25, the 10th International Exhibition “Silk Road” and the Investment and Trade Fair for Cooperation between the Eastern and Western Regions of China was held in the city of Xi’an, Shaanxi Province /Northwest China/.

At the event, representatives of railway, port, and logistics enterprises from different countries held an in-depth exchange of opinions with Chinese partners. A hot topic for discussion among the participants was freight trains between China and Europe.

The Executive Director of Xian Absheron Logistics Co., Ltd, Fuad Ahmadov, opened a branch in Xi’an two years ago. The volume of the company’s orders is growing every day, which, according to him, indicates that China-Europe freight trains and the “Belt and Road” initiative are gaining recognition and trust from an increasing number of foreign partners. Trade links along the routes of international cargo transportation between China and Europe are becoming increasingly active, and the potential of the cross-border logistics market continues to grow.

“China-Europe freight trains are distinguished by safety, punctuality, and efficiency and have become an important support for the global logistics system,” said Evgeny Nikitin, General Director of the company “Rusal,” adding that the stable operation of China-Europe trains ensures the rapid integration of environmentally clean aluminum into the Chinese supply chain and closer interaction between transnational industrial sectors.

“China-Europe freight trains allow small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises to enter the global market with relatively low costs and high efficiency,” noted Chu Luchi, Chairman of the Board and CEO of the logistics company Neptune Logistics Group.

She noted that thanks to the China-Europe trains, her company is rapidly developing. Currently, the company’s overseas warehouses are located in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and even in Europe.

The representative of the international port “Changba” in Xi’an stated that China-Europe freight trains are not just a transport route, but a full-fledged economic ecosystem, in which logistics, trade, finance, and industry are closely intertwined, providing global partners with broader investment opportunities and space for cooperation.

At the moment, 18 international rail freight routes China-Europe depart from Xi’an, covering the main sources of goods supply on the Eurasian continent.

According to the data, in 2025, 6,037 China-Europe and China-Central Asia cargo train departures were registered in Xi’an, which is 21.1% more on an annual basis. -0-
