An open school Olympiad in the chemical-mathematical and physical-mathematical profiles was held in Ufa, organized by ANK “Bashneft” (part of NK “Rosneft”) at the site of Ufa State Petroleum Technological University (UGNTU). The main prize for the winners of the Olympiad was an additional 10 points to the Unified State Exam (EGE) upon admission to the university.
The intellectual competition gathered more than 500 high school students from Ufa and various districts of the republic, which is 5 times more compared to last year.
Competitive tasks for students of grades 10–11 were based on examples from real projects in the oil and gas industry. Representatives of UGNTU and experts from “Bashneft” emphasized the high level of training of future applicants. In addition to the Olympiad, informative excursions were organized for senior students to advanced laboratories, specialized auditoriums, and the university’s scientific center. Thanks to this, guests were able to form a more complete understanding of the features of specialized education and career building opportunities in the oil and gas sector.
Within the framework of the long-term strategy for the development of human resources potential and the attraction of talented youth, Rosneft actively cooperates with specialized educational institutions, including UGNTU. The formation of an external personnel reserve is carried out through a corporate system of continuous education “School — college/university — enterprise.” Over two years of conducting Olympiads, interest among teenagers in engineering professions has noticeably increased, the geography of participants has expanded, and the quality of training of competitors has significantly improved.
Based on the university, seven corporate groups of “Bashneft” successfully operate, where training is conducted according to programs adapted to the specific tasks of the enterprise in key technological and geological areas. Students combine training according to an individual schedule with work in production, while classes are taught by instructor-experts — active employees of “Bashneft”.
Rosneft consistently implements a policy of social partnership, investing in the development of human resources potential in the region of its presence. The company is focused on the long-term development of the industry, the formation of professional competencies among young people, and strengthening the connection between education and production.
