The final competition of projects, completing the course “Fundamentals of Project Activity,” and the exhibition-fair “Idea in Action” were simultaneously held in the Politex Tower. More than 60 student teams — winners of the institute selection — demonstrated their developments. At the event, the laureates of the grant program “Alpha Chance” from JSC “ALFA-BANK” were also announced.

The course “Fundamentals of Project Activity” (FPA) has been conducted at SPbPU for the ninth time already. In this season, second-year students worked on 440 topics from partner companies, including Gazprom Neft, Russian Mechanics, the I. P. Pavlov Institute of Physiology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Petersburg Tractor Plant, the companies Sveza and ROBBO Technologies.

The final events took place with the support of the Youth Initiatives Center, the “Politics Tower” space, as well as partners of the OPD course — the “Gazprom Neft” Energy Club at SPbPU and the student accelerator “Grant-lab”.

In the nomination “Organizational projects,” first place was taken by the team with the development of a new food product concept for the “Vkusvill” network — RAVIOLI (team leader Mikhail Trepenok, IMMIT). Silver went to the project “Network of AI agents for preparing documents submitted to the investment committee of Sechenov University” (team leader Artur Shakulyan, IMMIT). Third place was taken by the authors of PRO.event (team leader Ivan Balaev, ISI).

In the scientific and technical nomination, the winning project was a robotic system for measuring the refractive index of special optical materials in the visible and IR ranges (leader Maksim Ilyin, FizMe). Second place was taken by the development of a mobile application and web system for automating the replacement of electricity metering devices at LLC “RKS – Energo” (leader Egor Volkov, IKNK). The top three was closed by a project on the application of low-temperature pyrolysis technology for the utilization of MSW for the needs of an enterprise (leader Daniil Skird, IE).

Among the creative projects, the best recognized was the psychological card game “Inside” (leader Kira Zaarenko, ISI). Second place went to the board game aimed at the socialization of children (leader Aliya Nurieva, ISI), and third — to the business game “Let’s Go to Poll” (leader Alisa Shapovalova, IBSIB).

In the IT nomination, the corporate employee training system Branch to Start (head Kirill Strok, IMMIT) won. Second place went to the AI assistant for amateur gardeners Agro LAB AI (head Yana Makarova, IPMIT). Third place was taken by the project of the anti-fake mobile application InnovaSirius (head Makar Goloshchapov, IKNK).

For the first time in the initiative competition of the Center for Assessment and Competency Development of the Polytechnic, a special nomination “Projects for Personal and Professional Development” was established. The jury was headed by Elena Stepashkina, Head of the Department of Analytics and Development of Diagnostic Tools of the Department of Assessment and Methodology of the Presidential Platform “Russia — Land of Opportunity.” The first place in the special nomination was taken by the project “Development of a Board Game Aimed at the Socialization of Children” (leader Aliya Nurieva, ISI).Students proposed game mechanics that will help children develop communication skills and emotional intelligence.

Second place went to the educational-practical course “You Are,” (led by Tatyana Lisyushina, GI), aimed at developing stress resilience and skills for solving complex life situations.

Third place was awarded to the business game for teamwork (leader Aleksandr Somov, GI) — a tool for developing team interaction skills, role distribution, and effective communication.

The jury also noted the high elaboration and social significance of another business game for working in a team (Ksenia Korobkova), the project “Planner of educational tasks” (Vladislav Abramov), a series of short videos about flexible skills and self-development of students (Roman Parshin, Ilya Arshavsky, Bogdan Gelever).

The awarding of winners and prize-winners took place with the participation of the Vice-Rector for Educational Activities Lyudmila Pankova. The guys received diplomas and commemorative prizes from the Competence Center and the Student Trade Union Organization of the Polytechnic.

In total, more than 800 teams were formed this year in the course “Fundamentals of Project Activity.” The best of them will present the results of their work to the customers, and then they will participate in the festival “Idea in Action.”

At the eponymous exhibition-fair in the Politezhyu Tower, the jury and viewers also chose three winners. First place was taken by the project “Chistoshag” — a device for cleaning shoe soles when entering a room (led by Lev Ruzakov). Second place was awarded to the anti-veip system InnovaSirius (led by Makar Goloshchapov). Third place went to the mobile application with artificial intelligence for selecting clothes Reseteo (led by Proor Berstenev).

An important part of the event was the awarding of personal grants from JSC “ALFA-BANK” under the “Alfa-Chance” program. As the organizers explained, this program is designed to identify talented youth, develop creative abilities and leadership qualities, assist in career choice, and increase student motivation. An expert commission consisting of bank representatives and employees of the Career Development Department selected the winners based on video presentations, academic and extracurricular activities.

Both laureates received 300 thousand rubles each. Student of PIS Anton Zykov shared that he will spend the grant on the development of a 3D printer for printing casting molds. Pro-or Polyakov plans to use the money to purchase a 3D printer to improve the unmanned aerial vehicles being developed. The award was presented by the head of the department for working with universities in the Northwest region of JSC “ALFA-BANK” Anna Sorokina.
