The Eurasian Network University strengthens the role of universities as a space where integration turns from an idea into concrete projects. This became the main focus of the IV EEU Forum, which brought together representatives of authorities, business, science, and education of the EAEU countries in Astrakhan.
The State University of Management acted as one of the key organizers of the forum. This is especially significant because the Secretariat of the Eurasian Network University operates on the basis of SUM. SUM was represented by Vice-Rector, Head of the ESU Secretariat Dmitry Bryukhanov, Vice-Rector Vitaliy Lapshevnikov, Head of International Cooperation Department Inessa Bogatyreva, and Director of the Eurasian Cooperation Center Dinara Sadieva.
The program focused on issues that determine the practical development of Eurasian integration: joint educational programs, academic mobility, scientific research, training personnel for the EAEU economy, and new formats of university interaction. At the expert session, spoke Member of the Board, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the EAEU Arzybek Kozhoshev, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on Science and Higher Education Vladimir Sipyagin, Chief Adviser of the Department for Multilateral Humanitarian Cooperation and Cultural Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Mark Kalinin, and representatives of leading universities of the Eurasian space.
Participants also discussed the draft intergovernmental agreement on the establishment of the Eurasian network university, the development of the consortium, and the expansion of the partnership network.
One of the main venues of the forum was the strategic session “Transport Policy of the EAEU.” It was moderated by the GUU Associate Professor Artem Savostitsky and Assistant to the Member of the Board of the EEC Kuvanychbek Shadybekov. Experts discussed the development of a unified transport space, digitalization of transportation, cybersecurity of logistics systems, training personnel for the transport sector, and the role of universities in supporting international infrastructure projects.
The scientific part of the forum took place within the framework of the conference “Integration of the EAEU-2030: factors of sustainable growth and management solutions.” Teachers, young scientists, and students from universities of the consortium presented research on digital transformation, personnel reserves, international cooperation, sustainable development, logistical constraints, and the interaction of the EAEU with other economic spaces.
An important outcome of the forum was the XIV meeting of the ESU Coordination Council. Participants summarized the results of the consortium’s work for the first half of 2026, accepted new members, signed agreements on cooperation between universities, and determined further directions of work. These decisions are aimed at developing joint programs, academic mobility, and research projects.
The forum showed that the Eurasian Network University is already functioning as a practical mechanism of cooperation. It unites universities around the common task of training specialists for the economy of the EAEU, launching joint research, and strengthening ties between countries through education. For GUU, participation in the forum became a continuation of systematic work on the development of Eurasian scientific and educational integration.
