Beijing, May 26 /Xinhua/ — China’s Coast Guard (CCG) on Tuesday took unprecedented measures to prevent and expel the Japanese fishing vessel Shishi, which invaded the territorial waters of China’s Diaoyu Islands archipelago, official CCG spokesperson Zhan Lue announced.

Cidian Liu confirmed that Diaoyutai and the islands adjacent to it are the inherent territory of China, noting that the adopted measures by the BOC were implemented in accordance with the law.

“We strongly urge the Japanese side to immediately stop all violations and provocative actions in the corresponding waters,” he emphasized.

The BOC will continue to conduct operations to protect rights and maintain law and order in the waters around Diaoyu, firmly safeguarding China’s state sovereignty, maritime rights, and interests, added Xian Luo.
