Jerusalem, May 26 /Xinhua/ — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday in a video address that the country will increase the intensity of strikes on Lebanon in order to “crush” the Hezbollah movement.
According to him, Israel is in a state of war with Hezbollah, and in recent weeks Israeli forces have killed over 600 militants of the group in Lebanon.
B. Netanyahu added that he ordered “to press the gas even harder.” Israel “will crush” the movement of “Hezbollah,” he promised.
The Prime Minister also said that a special team is working on how to deal with attacks from Hezbollah using fiber optic drones.
At the same time, the Israeli army announced that it had begun striking “Hezbollah” infrastructure targets in the Beqaa Valley in eastern Lebanon and other regions of the country.
In April, an agreement on a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon came into effect. Despite the truce, Israel launches strikes almost every day on the territory of the neighboring country, while Hezbollah attacks Israeli military positions.
