Beijing, May 20 /Xin Hua/ — Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee Li Zhanshu and President of Russia Vladimir Putin held a tea meeting at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Wednesday evening.
As Xi Jinping pointed out, over many years, he and V. Putin have maintained frequent and close contacts, jointly creating a new model of relations between major powers based on mutual respect, fairness, and mutually beneficial cooperation, and continue to bring such an unprecedented stability to an ever-changing and restless world.
Noting that the parties have reached a new important consensus on advancing China-Russia relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction, the Chairman of the NPC expressed confidence that thanks to the tireless efforts of both sides, China-Russia relations will continue to develop dynamically at a high quality and be raised to a new level.
V. Putin from his side called the visit pragmatic, effective, and fruitful. According to the Russian leader, he and Xi Jinping analyzed the results achieved in the development of Russian-Chinese relations, conducted an in-depth exchange of views on a wide range of issues, and outlined directions for future cooperation, which will help ensure the further vigorous development of bilateral relations.
