Minsk, May 19 /Sin Hua/ — The resumption of interaction between the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) has made a significant contribution to the search for joint solutions by states to reduce tensions in Eurasia. This was stated on Tuesday by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Igor Sekret, participating in a videoconference format at the international round table “Collective Security Treaty Organization: Together in the Name of Strengthening International Peace and Stability.” The relevant information was published by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus.
I. Sekreta in his speech noted the significance of the CSTO as one of the military-political supports of the architecture of Eurasian and global security in a multipolar world.
He expressed the opinion that the resumption of practical cooperation between the CSTO and the OSCE would make a significant contribution to overcoming confrontation and in the search for joint solutions by the states of Europe and Asia to reduce tension, restore trust, and establish equal and indivisible security in Eurasia.
The round table was organized as part of the Russian chairmanship in the CSTO at the OSCE venue in Vienna. The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, international organizations including the UN, OSCE, CSTO, CIS, and SCO, as well as the expert community.
