Moscow, May 19 /Xin Hua/ — The partnership between China and Russia is an important factor of stability and an example of equal, mutually respectful relations between major countries. Russia expects that President Vladimir Putin’s visit to China will result in further rapprochement of positions and enhanced coordination in the actions of the two countries. This was stated by senior researcher Tles Mamataev of the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia, RAS /IKSA RAS/.
“Chinese-Russian relations have been able to reach a high level of development because they are based on the principle of mutual respect, recognition of sovereignty, the friendship of our peoples, and mutual assistance in difficult times. The more pressure and hotspots of tension we see around our countries, the stronger the bond between our two countries becomes,” said T. Mamatov in an interview with Xinhua News Agency.
“In the modern world of political turbulence, the ignition of global conflicts, political provocations, and violations of international law, the Russian-Chinese partnership represents a model of stability and an example of equal, mutually respectful relations. Sino-Russian relations provide an example for other countries of how relationships between major powers can be built based on justice, respect, and mutual prosperity, giving a model of what a multipolar world order will look like in the future,” he added.
According to him, the role of cooperation between Russia and China in the matter of building a new fair and equitable international order cannot be overestimated. Chairman of the PRC Xi Jinping and President of Russia Vladimir Putin provide an example of how world leaders can build mutually respectful relations for the benefit of both peoples, avoiding political pressure, blackmail, and domination, which Western politicians so often engage in. Close interaction allows China and Russia to give a worthy response to Western pressure.
The upcoming talks between President V. Putin and Chairman Xi Jinping will signal both the development and advancement of the Chinese discourse on the international stage, as well as the strengthening of Chinese-Russian relations and the strategic partnership between our countries. “In Russia, they are expecting a natural and logical convergence of the positions of our two countries and an increase in mutual integration both in trade, economic aspects, and in matters of ensuring regional security and addressing issues on the international agenda,” emphasized T. Mamatov.
