Harbin, May 18 /Xinhua/ — On Monday in Harbin /admin. center of Heilongjiang Province, Northeast China/, the official opening of the next festival-fair “Made in Russia”, organized by the Russian Export Center /REC/, took place.
The event taking place at the site of the 35th Harbin International Trade and Economic Fair, parallel to the 10th China-Russia EXPO, actually started work on Sunday and will continue until May 21 inclusive.
According to REC data, festival-fair visitors can expect a large-scale exposition, within which more than 100 Russian manufacturers of agricultural products, cosmetics, consumer goods, and jewelry present their goods. The assortment includes food products, beverages, dietary supplements, jewelry, and souvenirs. In addition to the above-mentioned goods, representatives of tourist destinations and online training from more than 40 regions of Russia offer their services to guests.
A tasting zone was organized for visitors, where festival-fair guests can try dishes made from Kamchatka crab, and Russian chefs prepare pancakes and syrniki right on the spot. In addition, products can be ordered through the national store “Made in Russia” and on China’s leading marketplace.
Recall that a similar event has been held in Harbin for the third consecutive year, and the total number of “Made in Russia” festival-fairs held in China in recent years has reached six. The first of them took place in 2024, on the eve of the Chinese New Year, in the cities of Shenyang and Dalian /Liaoning Province, Northeast China/, the second in Harbin in May, and the third in the city of Chengdu /administrative center of Sichuan Province, Southwest China/ in November. In 2025, the festival was held in the cities of Shenyang, Harbin, and Beijing.
“The experience of the last two years demonstrates a high demand for this format: the participants of the “Made in Russia” festivals and fairs in China have become more than 500 Russian companies, over 2,000 business meetings have been held, export contracts totaling more than 15 billion rubles have been signed, and online sales during the events exceeded 1.5 billion rubles. The festivals were attended by over two million Chinese citizens,” noted the general director of REC Veronika Nikishina in an interview with Xin Hua.
“Based on these results, we expect that this year’s festival-fair in Harbin will allow us to consolidate the positions already achieved and open new niches for Russian manufacturers. We anticipate growth in the number of contracts signed and further strengthening of Chinese consumers’ trust in Russian products,” summarized the general director of REC.
