Shantou, May 16 /Xinhua/ — On Saturday, the second large-sized cruise liner of Chinese production, Adora Flora City, departed from the berth of the port of Waigaoqiao in Shantou /Eastern China/, starting a 12-day trial voyage. This is the final important step before the official transfer of the vessel to the customer.
Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), invited a team of 937 specialists from 12 countries on board to participate in the first trial voyage.
During the trip, they will conduct 149 tests and verification tasks to confirm the key performance indicators of the liner, which was docked from the berth in Shanghai on March 20.
According to the shipbuilder’s information, the length of the cruise liner with a displacement of 141,900 tons is 341 meters; it has 2,130 guest cabins and suites on board, where a maximum of 5,232 passengers can be accommodated. Adora Flora City, as the sister ship of the first large Chinese-made cruise liner Adora Magic City, stands out with a comprehensive modernization in spatial design, intellectual technology, and overall quality of cruise services.
The delivery of the new liner to the customer is scheduled for November 6 of this year, when it will begin its first cruise season from the international cruise port of Nansha in Guangzhou / administrative center of Guangdong Province, South China/.-0-
