Beijing, May 11 /Xinhua/ — The Producer Price Index (PPI), an indicator measuring changes in wholesale prices of goods by producers, rose by 2.8 percent year-on-year in China in April 2026. This was reported on Monday by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China.
According to the data, in April PPI rose by 1.7% month-on-month compared to 1% in March.
GSU Dun Lizhuang statistics explained the growth of PPI by three main factors, in particular, the rise in prices in domestic sectors related to oil, caused by fluctuations in international prices, increased demand in some domestic industries, and the continued improvement of market competition, which led to a rise in prices or a slight slowing of the decline rates in the respective sector.
