Berlin, May 11 /Xin Hua/ — On Thursday, German passengers were evacuated from the cruise liner MV Hondius, where an outbreak of the coronavirus occurred. This was reported on Monday by the German TV channel ARD on its news site Tagesschau.
The plane with evacuees landed on Sunday evening in Eindhoven, Netherlands, where specialists met them and took them to Frankfurt.
Upon arrival, passengers will undergo quarantine in their native federal lands, ARD reports. It is planned that one passenger will be hospitalized in the Charite hospital in Berlin.
In addition, a 65-year-old German woman has already been admitted to a hospital in Düsseldorf. Authorities stated that she had close contact with another passenger who died on board the liner from the virus, but so far no signs of infection have been detected.
