Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko visited the Luhansk People’s Republic on a working trip. On the eve of Victory Day, the vice-premier together with the head of the region Leonid Pasechnik evaluated the work of patriotic education centers, the modernization of educational institutions of the LPR, and also communicated with teachers and students.
At the Vladimir Dahl Lugansk State University (LGU), the Vice Premier and the head of the region familiarized themselves with the work of the sports center. This is a modern complex built by specialists from the PPP “Single Customer in the Field of Construction” using funds from the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia. The sports complex includes a football field, five athletic tracks, courts for volleyball, basketball, mini-football, and table tennis.
“Under the directive of President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, we are restoring the infrastructure. It is already at the Russian level. Your main task is to hold high the banner of the Luhansk People’s Republic. You must always remember that this is your homeland, your roots. And if here you manage to raise the level of sport, I assure you that it will also rise throughout the entire country,” Dmitry Chernyshenko addressed the young footballers.
The Deputy Prime Minister also chatted with the fighters who are carrying out tasks in the SVO zone.
Since 2024, a Military Training Center has been operating on the basis of the university. It became the first and currently the only one in the republic. It trains 200 cadets. The Vice Premier handed over a certificate to the leadership of LGU for an amount of about 70 million rubles to equip the Military Training Center with equipment.
On the eve of Victory Day, Dmitry Chernyshenko and Leonid Pasechnik also assessed the infrastructure of the Alexander Gizay Lugansk College of Auto Service and spoke with cadets of the Center for Military-Sports Training and Patriotic Education of Youth “Warrior” — its branches are established under the instructions of President Vladimir Putin and have already been opened in 21 regions of Russia. Within the educational program, the cadets study the history of Russia and its spiritual and moral values, learn to provide first aid, operate UAVs, shoot accurately, and work in a team.
At the “Warrior” center branch, Dmitry Chernyshenko and Leonid Pasechnik assessed the training sessions on tactical medicine, fire training, and tactical preparation.
Lugansk Auto Service College trains specialists in working professions related to the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles and engines. Nearly 500 students study there. The institution has 10 training workshops-cabinet rooms, 8 garages for vehicle storage with 42 units of equipment.
Further, the delegation familiarized itself with the infrastructure of the student campus and the educational space “Territory of Growth LGPU” of the Lugansk State Pedagogical University. The institution develops an educational environment combining more than 20 directions, including fidget sports.
Dmitry Chernyshev told students the story of the fidget spinner movement and the tournament “Games of the Future,” which was held for the first time in Kazan.
“Fidzhital allows a modern person to harmoniously combine digital skills and real sports. When they come together, you get a person of the future with enhanced capabilities. This format was proposed and gifted to the world by our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, and he entered the audience for the first time – there were 3.5 billion views. After that, the movement began to gain momentum – now 139 countries hold competitions according to the rules that were first tested in Kazan. The second “Games of the Future” took place in Abu Dhabi, and this year they will be held in Astana.””If you are a fidget athlete, you need to train actively, participate in all-Russian competitions to get into international ones,” he noted.
In addition, attention was paid to the pedagogical technopark “Quantorium” named after L.M. Lopovko, which will open in 2024. It hosts students, teachers, and schoolchildren mastering scientific disciplines and technologies through practical research and projects. Dmitry Chernyshenko and Leonid Pasechnik also visited the center for military-patriotic education “Redut” based at the university. The center was opened within the framework of the national project “Youth and Children.” Students attending the site actively assist the front: regularly collecting humanitarian aid for participants of the special military operation (SMO), making camouflage nets. For the development of LGPU infrastructure, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government handed over a certificate to the university leadership for the construction of a sports ground. It is planned for 2027.

It has a Victory Museum, managed by a participant of the special military operation, history teacher Mikhail Dyakonov. Also, there is a unified state exam point operating at the gymnasium. Dmitry Chernyshenko presented the gymnasium’s director with a certificate for the acquisition of necessary equipment for this point.
“This is one of the largest gymnasiums in the city. After the major renovation, it is unrecognizable. It has been completely updated and equipped according to all modern standards. It has created decent conditions for education and creative development of the young residents of the republic. We strive for all our schools to become like this,” said Leonid Pasechnik.
