Almaty, April 30 /Xin Hua/ — The Grain Union of Kazakhstan has raised its forecast for the export of grain and flour in the current agricultural year (September 2025 — August 2026) from 13 to 13.4 million tons. This was reported on Thursday by the official representative of the organization, Evgeny Karabanov.
For the seven months of the current year, the total export of wheat in grain equivalent amounted to 9.7 million tons, fulfilling the plan by 72.5%.
Export of soft and hard wheat from Kazakhstan in March amounted to 809.6 thousand tons, which is 4.6 percent less than in February. Wheat shipments continued to decline due to seasonal slowdown, reduction of exporters’ margins because of new Tax Code norms, as well as a significant strengthening of the tenge against all currencies.
Nevertheless, due to record shipment rates in previous months, the total wheat export shows record figures, which is why the forecast for its volume in the current marketing year was increased by 200 thousand tons to 8 million tons. –0–
