Kyiv, April 29 /Ukrinform/ — This year, the harvest of cereals and legumes in Ukraine is expected to be at the level of last year and will amount to about 60.2 million tons. This forecast was reported on Tuesday by the agency “Interfax-Ukraine”, as voiced by the Deputy Director of the National Scientific Center “Institute of Agrarian Economics” Alexander Nechiporenko.
According to him, in 2026 in Ukraine, the sown areas for grain and leguminous crops will decrease by 2.6% compared to the previous year. However, the sowings of certain grain crops, in particular buckwheat, rye, oats, barley, sorghum, and millet, will show growth.
According to the State Statistics Service, the production of cereals and leguminous crops in Ukraine increased by 8.2% by the end of 2025 — to 61 million tons.
