Moscow, April 26 /Tass/ — The Government of Russia has extended restrictions on the sale of alcoholic beverages near hazardous production facilities. The new decree will come into effect on September 1, 2026, and will remain in force until September 1, 2032. This was reported by TASS on Sunday.

The previous resolution, regulating similar legal relations, was adopted by the Government of the Russian Federation on December 23, 2020.

According to Russian laws, the sale of alcoholic beverages near sources of increased danger is not allowed, including in catering establishments. Specific “restricted zones” are determined by regional authorities, but the rules are established by the Cabinet of Ministers. The criterion for defining a “restricted zone” remains the same: these are places within the boundaries of a hazardous production facility for which an industrial safety declaration is mandatory.

Earlier, the Russian government extended the validity of rules established by local authorities defining the boundaries of alcohol-free zones around socially significant sites. The sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited, in particular, on territories adjacent to educational and medical institutions, as well as sports facilities.
