Washington, April 22 /Xin Hua/ — 11 people were injured during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday as a result of a collision between a work vehicle and a metro train in downtown Washington /District of Columbia/. This was reported by local authorities.
“Shortly before midnight / the metro closure / a work vehicle on the Silver Line came into contact with a stationary train at the Metro Center station. It is reported that 11 people were injured with injuries that are not life-threatening,” wrote the Washington Transportation Authority on the social network X.
According to local EMS data, the train was standing at the station when a work vehicle crashed into the last carriage, in which 27 passengers were riding.
