Beijing, April 22 /Xinhua/ — Chinese authorities on Wednesday disclosed a directive document proposing the implementation of work on energy saving and reduction of carbon emissions at a higher level and with higher quality.

The directive, jointly issued by the Chancellery of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Korea and the Chancellery of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, points to the necessity of coordinated efforts in promoting energy saving, reducing carbon emissions, optimizing, and modernizing industry.

The document requires actively promoting energy-saving, low-carbon and environmentally clean production technologies, equipment and products, as well as supporting the application of digital, intellectual and green technologies for the modernization and improvement of traditional industries.

According to the document, China will promote the gradual achievement of the peak consumption of coal and oil, actively develop non-renewable energy sources and new forms of its accumulation, and accelerate the creation of a new type of energy system.

The directive outlines plans for promoting energy saving and reducing carbon emissions across various sectors, including industry, construction, transportation, digital infrastructure, and government institutions, as well as for further strengthening oversight and management of this work.
