Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev held a meeting with the head of the region Andrey Bocharov during a working trip to the Volgograd region. The main topic of the meeting was the development of the agro-industrial complex and rural areas, as well as ensuring the environmental well-being of the region.

“Volgograd Oblast is one of the major industrial and agricultural centers of our country. Agriculture plays a significant role in the economy of Volgograd Oblast. You are an important producer of grain in the south of Russia. Last year, the harvest amounted to almost 6 million tons. This is a very worthy contribution to our common federal treasury. In addition, the region traditionally collects high yields of oilseeds and vegetables,” said Dmitry Patrushev.

For the support of APC and the development of rural territories this year, the Government of Russia allocated almost 2 billion rubles to the Volgograd region. The funds are intended, among other things, for the improvement of rural territories, construction, and major repairs of social and infrastructural facilities.

Dmitry Patrushev and Andrey Bocharov also discussed the natural resource potential of the region and environmental issues. The Vice Prime Minister reported that at the event of the national project “Ecological Well-being” in 2026, more than 800 million rubles are allocated for the region. The funds are directed towards improving water bodies, constructing hydraulic structures, purchasing firefighting equipment, and developing forest nurseries.

As part of a working trip, the Deputy Chairman of the Government, together with the governor, visited the agricultural enterprise “Donskoye” in the Kalachevsky district, which specializes in breeding dairy cattle and growing grain, oilseed, and fodder crops. In addition, Dmitry Patrushev familiarized himself with the operation of a plant for processing and shock freezing vegetables. The Vice Prime Minister and head of the region also inspected the coastal defenses of the city of Volgograd.
