Electronic registration has begun for children’s hockey teams to participate in the Moscow Sports Cup “Golden Puck.” This is the regional stage of the all-Russian young hockey players’ competition.

The history of the competitions began on December 8, 1964, when the call “On your marks, friends! The Golden Puck calls!” was published in the newspaper “Pionerskaya Pravda.” They are held annually among children aged 10 to 17.

Amateur teams from state and non-state organizations, as well as commercial clubs, are invited to participate. Four age categories of athletes are provided — junior (born 2010–2011), senior (born 2012–2013), middle (born 2014–2015), and junior (born 2016–2017). The competition will feature the first 20 teams that submit applications and successfully pass the player admission commission.

Applications are accepted electronically at official website the tournament from 10:00 on October 12 until November 6.

From November 7 to 23, applications will be reviewed. Those who meet all the requirements will need to submit a complete set of documents for each player in person according to the schedule:

November 26 — teams of the junior group;

November 27 — teams of the middle group;

December 1 — senior group teams;

December 2 — junior group teams.

Participants will be notified in advance about the time and place of the in-person commission. The tournament will take place from December to January.

The competition is organized with the support of the capital Department of Sports and corresponds to the objectives of the Russian Federation’s state programs “Development of Physical Culture and Sports” and “Sport of Russia”, as well as the information campaign “Motivation for engaging in sports and promotion of sports infrastructure.” One of their objectives is to increase the proportion of citizens systematically engaged in physical culture and sports to 70 percent by 2030. The capital makes a decisive contribution to achieving this goal. Special attention is given to the proximity of the infrastructure, support for families with children, as well as the integration of participants and veterans of the special military operation and their family members into the sports community.
