From October 17 to 25, the “October Fest” — a large autumn festival that combines various leisure formats — will take place at the “City Farm” in VDNH. For two weeks, guests will be able to stroll around the farm, see its inhabitants, and take part in special programs dedicated to autumn, harvest, and transformations.
On October 17 and 18, the farm will host themed weekends in the format of Oktoberfest. Guests can look forward to hot grilled dishes, lemonade tastings, family competitions, and creative workshops. At one of the sessions, participants will be able to make a mug from a pumpkin, which they can take home. The program will also include a hot dog eating championship and a family activity called “Paint Your Parent.”
On October 24, the “Pumpkin Night” will take place — one of the most spectacular parts of the festival. Guests will be able to write a message, make and decorate a pumpkin boat themselves, and in the evening send it afloat on the pond. Hundreds of such candle-lit boats will create a festive arrangement on the water. To end the evening, participants can take part in the game “Mafia.”
The final event of “October Fest” will be the “Autumn Carnival,” which will take place on October 25. The program includes a workshop on creating comics and a speed cabbage shredding competition. Children who come to the farm in costumes will have free admission on this day.
“October Fest” is an opportunity to spend an autumn day outdoors and combine a walk with participation in themed events. At the same time, the usual interaction with alpacas, sheep, goats, reindeer, raccoons, zebus, and other animals, typical for the life of the “City Farm,” will become part of the festival program. The territory will also feature themed photo zones dedicated to autumn and the harvest.
