Specialists urban economy complex of Moscow have completed the construction of a high-pressure gas pipeline that runs through the center and west of the capital. The length of the new engineering networks is almost one and a half kilometers. A capacity reserve is provided for connecting prospective consumers. At the moment, the facility is fully ready for tapping.
The new gas pipeline was designed by specialists at JSC “Mosgaz.” It is distinguished by increased complexity: the work was carried out in conditions of dense urban development, including historical areas, with intersections of road and engineering infrastructure. More than 95 percent of the networks were laid using microtunneling. This technology allowed the work to be done without large-scale excavations.
Steel pipes of domestic production with a diameter of one thousand millimeters were chosen as the construction material. Almost the entire pipeline is laid in reinforced concrete and steel casing. This solution provides additional protection for the engineering networks and extends the service life of the facility.
Strict quality control is ensured at all stages of construction. The materials were checked by specialists from the Moscow City Center for the Study of Physico-Mechanical Properties of Structural Materials of JSC “Mosgaz”, and the quality of the pipe connections was inspected by defectoscopists.
The new gas pipeline will create additional capacity for the development of urban infrastructure. Thanks to such projects, the reliability and durability of the networks, their capacity, and throughput increase. The capital constantly monitors the condition of pipelines and consistently modernizes engineering communications as they wear out, as well as builds new ones in all districts of the capital. Thus, Moscow’s gas distribution system remains one of the most modern and safest in the world.
The city’s urban management complex noted that the projects being implemented in the city for the modernization and improvement of the reliability of communal infrastructure correspond to the goals and objectives of the national project. “Infrastructure for Life”.
