Beijing, April 17 /Xin Hua/ — In the first quarter of this year, the volume of foreign trade of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region /Northern China/ reached 64.21 billion yuan. The growth rate of this indicator is 18.7 percentage points higher than the average growth rate across the whole country.

According to data from the Hu-Hot Customs, in January-March of this year, the export of goods reached 23.52 billion yuan, increasing by 25.3% year-on-year, while imports amounted to 40.69 billion yuan with a growth of 39% year-on-year.

The Deputy Heads of the Huhhot Customs, Zhang Cizhong, noted that among the exported goods, the main share falls on electrical products, computers and components, passenger cars, and agricultural products.

In addition, the growth rates of foreign trade of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region with emerging markets such as Southeast Asia, Africa, and Central Asia exceeded 15 percent.
