Ashgabat, April 17 /Xin Hua/ — The Chinese side is ready, together with the Turkmen side, to fully engage in the role of the China-Turkmenistan Committee on Cooperation and, guided by the strategic plan outlined by the leaders of the two countries, to promote high-quality development of comprehensive interaction. This was stated here on Thursday by a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, Vice Premier of the State Council of the PRC, Ding Xuexiang, during negotiations with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov.

They also co-chaired the seventh meeting of the China-Turkmenistan Cooperation Committee.

Dean Suesen noted that China and Turkmenistan are comprehensive strategic partners whose relations are characterized by a high level of mutual trust. In recent years, Chairman of the National People’s Congress Xi Jinping and the leaders of Turkmenistan have maintained close contacts, ensuring strategic guidance for the development of bilateral relations.Cooperation in the field of natural gas brings new results, trade and economic interaction accelerates stable dynamics, interconnectedness is noticeably strengthened, humanitarian exchanges are constantly expanding, and cooperation in various fields demonstrates significant progress.

Dean Suessyan noted the inevitability of strengthening political leadership at a high level, improving the effectiveness of coordination, planning, and agreement, as well as the transformation of important agreements of leaders of two countries into concrete results of practical cooperation.The parties must accelerate the coordination of the “Belt and Road” initiative with the “Revival of the Great Silk Road” strategy, expand the scale of cooperation in the gas sector, optimize the trade structure, actively form new points of growth in interaction, strengthen mutual support, appropriately respond to risks and challenges, as well as better ensure the security of the development of the two countries and maintain peace and stability in the region.

Meredov stated that under the leadership of the leaders of the two countries, the comprehensive strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and China continues to deepen, reaching the highest level in history.The Turkmen side is ready, together with the Chinese side, to strengthen traditional friendship, comprehensively implement important agreements of the leaders of the two countries, consider cooperation in the gas sector as a strategic and flagship direction, as well as expand practical interaction in such areas as artificial intelligence /AI/, transport, and modern agriculture, promoting further development of bilateral relations.

At the meeting, Din Syosyan and R. Meredov signed the General Agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of Turkmenistan on the main principles of cooperation in the gas industry, the Cooperation Program between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of Turkmenistan for five years /for 2026-2030/, the Protocol of the seventh meeting of the China-Turkmen intergovernmental cooperation committee. Din Syosyan and R.Meredov was also present at the signing of documents on cooperation in the fields of culture, transport and logistics, IT, science and technology, education, and traditional medicine. –0–
