Moscow, April 16 /Xinhua/ — Russia supports holding events in China aimed at developing multifaceted trade and economic cooperation and strengthening Russian-Chinese business ties. This was stated on Thursday by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova, responding to a question from correspondent Xinhua about the significance of the 6th China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE), which will be held from April 13 to 18 in the city of Haikou, Hainan Province (South China).
“Of course, we support holding events in China aimed at developing multifaceted trade and economic cooperation, strengthening, in particular, Russian-Chinese business relations and ties. And, of course, a special place is occupied by the 6th China International Consumer Goods Expo,” noted the Russian diplomat.
Commenting on Russia’s participation in CICPE / Russia has established its national pavilion at the exhibition for the first time, M. Zagarova expressed hope that this platform will provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs from Russia and China to better get to know each other and expand cooperation.
A representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also invited businessmen and the public from the CIS to participate in major international economic events held in Russia. She specifically mentioned the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Eastern Economic Forum, the Caucasus Investment Forum, the Russian Energy Week, the international industrial exhibition “Innoprom,” and the business forum “Rostki.”
“We know that our Chinese friends are always interested in participating in these events. This year — always glad,” said M. Zagarova, adding in Chinese “Huanying” /welcome/.
“I am absolutely confident that intensive exchanges, including along the lines of business communities, play an important role in the successful advancement of the entire complex of Russian-Chinese relations,” the Russian diplomat summed up.
