Almaty, April 16 /Xin Hua/ — According to the results of 2025, the volume of light industry production in Kazakhstan will reach 259.5 billion tenge (about 550.4 million US dollars). This was reported on Thursday by the Kazinform news agency, citing the Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan, Muamed Andakov.
According to him, the main share in the industry was occupied by textile production amounting to 159 billion tenge /337.3 million dollars/. The volume of clothing sewing amounted to about 84 billion tenge /178.2 million dollars/, and the production of leather and related products — about 17 billion tenge /36.1 million US dollars/.
“In 2025, the volume of the light industry market in the country amounted to 3.6 billion US dollars, with the share of domestic manufacturers being 8.1%, and the remaining volume accounted for by imports.
