Due to the annual Moscow Marathon held on September 26, vehicle traffic was restricted on several streets and embankments in the capital. The route passes along the embankments of the Moscow River, the Garden and Boulevard rings, Tverskaya Street, and the historic center near the Kremlin walls. The restrictions affected the Central and Western administrative districts.
Until 1:00 PM, the section of Kosygin Street from Vernadsky Avenue to University Square is closed, and until 12:15 PM — from University Square to Vorobyovy Highway when moving towards Vorobyovy Highway.
Until 12:30, it is not possible to drive on Vorobyovsky Highway from Kosygin Street to the Berezhkovsky Bridge. Until 12:50, traffic is restricted on Berezhkovskaya Embankment (from Berezhkovsky to Borodinsky Bridge), Taras Shevchenko Embankment (from Borodinsky Bridge to house 1), the side driveway of Bolshaya Dorogomilovskaya Street (from Berezhkovskaya Embankment to Borodinsky Bridge), and on the Borodinsky Bridge itself (from Bolshaya Dorogomilovskaya Street to Smolenskaya Street towards the region).
Until 13:00, Smolenskaya Embankment is closed from Borodinsky Bridge to building 5/31. Until 13:10 — Rostovskaya Embankment from Smolenskaya Street to Savvinskaya Embankment, and Savvinskaya Embankment from Rostovskaya to Novodevichy Embankment. Until 13:20 — Novodevichy Embankment from Savvinskaya to Berezhkovsky Bridge and Luzhnetskaya Embankment from Berezhkovsky Bridge to Luzhniki Street. Until 14:00, Luzhniki Street is closed from Luzhnetskaya Embankment to building 24, structure 23.
In addition, parking is prohibited in all restricted areas until the end of the event.
On September 27, the marathon will continue in the city center, causing traffic restrictions on more than 60 streets and embankments. In particular, from 00:01 to 13:00 Kosygin Street will be closed from Vernadsky Avenue to University Square in both directions, and from 03:00 to 12:00 — Vorobyovskaya Embankment from Luzhnetsky Metro Bridge to Vorobyovskoye Highway.
Drivers are advised to plan their trip routes taking into account the introduced restrictions.
