Since January, 317 control and inspection activities have been conducted at the objects of the city’s street and road network. This was reported by the Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Main Control Department of the capital. Evgeny Danchikov.
The specialists of “Kontrol Moskvy” accompany the implementation of projects from the preparatory stage to acceptance. Systematic supervision makes it possible to timely identify and eliminate violations, including deviations from technological requirements and the use of substandard materials. It is such defects that can lead to premature wear of the road surface.
Since the beginning of the year, inspectors at transport infrastructure facilities
Mosgosstroynadzor organized 317 inspections. They are aimed at detecting deviations from design solutions at a stage when their correction requires significantly fewer resources. This helps reduce the likelihood of premature repairs and increase the service life of the constructed road infrastructure,” said Evgeny Danchikov.
For conducting research and testing during the 201 visit, employees of the subordinate Center for Expertise, Research, and Testing in Construction (State Budgetary Institution ‘CEIIS’) participated. They performed 22 types of work, including determining the concrete class by compressive strength, the water saturation coefficient of asphalt concrete, as well as the thickness and number of layers of the pavement structure.
The mobile laboratory of the State Budgetary Institution “CEIIS” conducted diagnostics at 27 sites. The studies helped identify hidden defects that cannot be detected by visual inspection. Additionally, using a specially equipped vehicle, the experts assessed the longitudinal evenness of the surfaces to determine ride smoothness and detect irregularities that could affect vehicle stability and passenger comfort.
“Supervision of road infrastructure construction is based on several key principles. First and foremost, it is safety: inspectors assess the presence of protective barriers, the organization of temporary pedestrian crossings, and compliance with occupational safety requirements. Such projects are almost always associated with the rearrangement of kilometers of engineering communications, so it is necessary to ensure their uninterrupted operation. Special attention is paid to the landscaping of adjacent areas, since major highways change the appearance of entire neighborhoods,” noted the chairman of Mosgosstroynadzor.
According to him, significant attention was paid to prevention: specialists from the Moscow City Committee for State Construction Supervision conducted 257 consultations and issued 38 warnings about the inadmissibility of non-compliance with mandatory requirements in the field of road and bridge construction.
Currently, Mosgosstroynadzor is overseeing the implementation of 202 street and road network projects — ranging from multi-lane interchanges to intra-quarter passages. Key objects include the bridge over the Moskva River near Novozavodskaya Street, the pedestrian bridge between the Mnevniki floodplain and Fili Park, and the overpass over the railway tracks of the October railway direction in the Marfino area.
