The National Award “Best Industrial Design of Russia” will be held according to updated rules: participants will be able to present both already produced products and prospective developments. This was announced by the Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Anatoly Garbuzov.
“In the new season, applications will be accepted in two main categories. ‘Serial Product’ — for projects launched into mass or small-scale production, and ‘Concept Design’ — for promising products, prototypes, mock-ups, and samples. At the same time, experts will be able to evaluate solutions taking into account the specifics of different industries: transport, mechanical engineering, medicine, and other fields. For participants, this is an opportunity to showcase developments that combine functionality, technological sophistication, and modern principles of industrial design,” said Anatoliy Garbuzov.
The competitive selection and expert evaluation will take place in eight categories. Among them are the design of ground vehicles, including cars, electric buses, buses, and motorcycles, as well as the design of industrial spaces and equipment (machine tools, robotics, and other manufacturing machinery), including medical equipment.
In addition, the categories of “Household Item Design,” “Water and Air Transport Design,” “Special Machinery Design” — including agricultural, construction-road, and other specialized equipment — as well as “Design of Lifting and Transport Equipment for Moving People and Lifting Cargo,” which particularly includes cable cars, elevators, cranes, and lifts, will be presented.
The National Award “Best Industrial Design of Russia” is the country’s premier competition for designers and manufacturers who create modern and original products. It was established in 2023 on the initiative of the Moscow Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and in 2024 it became a national award by decision of the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.
In 2025, more than 500 projects from 63 regions of Russia were accepted for the competition. Winning enterprises numbered 68, 31 of which were from Moscow.
