Moscow is ready for the new heating season. Sergey Sobyanin announced this on his channel in the messenger “Max”.
“The city services conducted preventive inspections and repairs of engineering systems and equipment. The existing capacities allow for stable and uninterrupted supply of energy resources to consumers, prospective city programs, and infrastructure projects. From May to August, about 74 thousand buildings were prepared for the heating season. Hydraulic tests were performed on 19.5 thousand kilometers of heating networks,” wrote the Mayor of Moscow.

For the heating season, preparations included 34.6 thousand residential buildings, 8.4 thousand social facilities, and about 30.8 thousand economic facilities.
City services conducted preventive inspections and necessary repairs of engineering systems and equipment of boiler houses, central heating points, large energy facilities, and engineering networks for heat, gas, water, and electricity supply.
For the new autumn-winter period, 13 CHPPs, 38 district and 42 block heating stations, and 97 small boiler houses were prepared. Repair work was carried out on 11 power units, 34 steam turbines, 234 hot water boilers, and 42 power boilers at the facilities of PJSC Mosenergo. Preventive maintenance was performed on 428 network pumps and 59 network heaters and boilers.
Hydraulic tests were conducted on 19,500 kilometers of heating networks. The strength of the pipes, connection points, shut-off valves, and other equipment was checked under increased pressure.
Employees of PJSC “MOEK” carried out repair and preventive maintenance work at 24 pumping stations, 45 heating stations, and 91 boiler houses. More than 10,800 heat points were made ready. 150 kilometers of heating networks were reconstructed.
More than 130,000 kilometers of electrical networks have been fully prepared, as well as 170 high-voltage and 23,000 transformer substations. Work has been carried out to reconstruct 165 kilometers of cable lines and repair 3,600 transformer and distribution substations.
JSC Mosgaz has carried out technical diagnostics and repairs on about 3,500 kilometers of gas pipelines and 314 gas regulation points.
Employees of JSC “Mosvodokanal” conducted preventive inspections of over 13.2 thousand kilometers of water supply and 9.8 thousand kilometers of sewer networks. Approximately 8.8 thousand manholes and 420 fire hydrants were repaired, and 384 water-drawing columns were prepared for operation in winter conditions.
State Unitary Enterprise “Mosvodostok” conducted an inspection of 5,500 kilometers of stormwater drainage networks and 384 kilometers of collectors. Work was carried out on flushing, cleaning, and current repairs of over 1,400 kilometers of stormwater drainage networks.
The existing capacity reserves allow for stable and uninterrupted supply of energy resources to consumers, as well as meeting the needs of prospective urban programs and infrastructure projects.
This year, as part of the regional program for the major overhaul of the housing stock, the internal central heating systems have been renovated in more than 820 buildings.
“Emergency teams have been formed to operate during the winter period. They are equipped with all the necessary specialized equipment and engineering machinery. Fifty-four stationary snow-melting points have been prepared for snow disposal,” clarified Sergey Sobyanin.
