With the onset of cold weather in Moscow, the risk of respiratory viral diseases traditionally increases. To reduce the risk of complications, which occur more frequently with the flu than with other respiratory infections, city doctors recommend getting a free flu vaccination. Now the vaccine can be administered not only at clinics but also at mobile points operating near metro stations, the Moscow Central Circle (MCC), and the Moscow Central Diameters (MCD). This was reported by Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development Issues.

“The seasonal flu vaccination campaign has started in Moscow. Traditionally, we make it as accessible as possible — Vaccinations can be done at all clinics and schools, and today mobile units have started operating near 18 metro, MCC, and MCD stations. Muscovites will be able to complete the entire procedure literally on their way to work, study, or home, without spending time visiting a clinic. For the convenience of residents, the points operate without days off and without prior appointment. Before vaccination, everyone can undergo a doctor’s examination to check for contraindications. This guarantees the safety and effectiveness of the vaccination.“, — noted Anastasia Rakova.

Mobile flu vaccination points are located near metro stations, close to railway and bus stations, popular tourist spots, shopping centers, and busy transfer hubs. A total of 18 points have been opened in various districts of the capital, including Zelenograd and TiNAO. The mobile points have been operating seasonally in the city for the 11th consecutive year.

“For the 11th year in a row, we have been supporting the traditional flu vaccination campaign of the Moscow City Department of Health. To this end, we provide special sites at 18 popular stations on nine metro lines, the MCC, MCD-2, and MCD-3. Vaccination is available on the way home, to work, or to studies without prior appointment,” said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

Maksim Liksutov.

Mobile vaccination points operate from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 20:00, on Saturday from 09:00 to 18:00, and on Sunday from 09:00 to 16:00. They are located near the stations:

Before vaccination, each person is examined by a doctor. This is necessary to identify possible contraindications. After a positive conclusion from the specialist, the visitor will be vaccinated and receive recommendations. It is sufficient to have only a passport and a compulsory medical insurance policy (OMS), if available. The procedure takes 10–15 minutes.
