In Moscow, 40 educational facilities were built in the eight months of 2026. Their total area exceeds 330 thousand square meters. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning Policy and Construction. Vladimir Efimov.
“The city continues systematic work on creating the necessary educational infrastructure. Over eight months, 40 educational facilities were built in the capital: 26 kindergartens and 14 schools, with a total area of over 330 thousand square meters. They are located in 22 districts across all administrative areas of Moscow, which allows for the even development of social infrastructure throughout the city. The facilities provided 5.4 thousand places for preschoolers and more than 11.4 thousand places for schoolchildren. The large-scale development of educational infrastructure strengthens the personnel foundation of the capital, creates comfortable conditions for the education and upbringing of the younger generation, and also increases the attractiveness of districts for families with children,” said Vladimir Efimov.
Social facilities are constructed together with residential buildings and transport infrastructure facilities. This approach aligns with the concept of a 15-minute city, where everything necessary for life is within walking distance from the place of residence.
“We are creating infrastructure that makes life truly convenient in both established and new neighborhoods. Recently, a school was built in the Pokrovskoe-Streshnevo district on the site of the former Tushino airfield. The three-story building, with a total area of 22,500 square meters, is divided into functional blocks for younger and older classes. Special attention in the project is given to the study of engineering sciences: here there is an IT polygon with zones for device development and testing, modeling and programming, as well as a robotics classroom, laboratory-research complexes, and a lecture hall,” added the Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the city’s Department of Urban Planning Policy.
“Moscow control” accompanied the implementation of projects from the preparatory stage to acceptance. Chairman of Mosgosstroynadzor Anton Slobodchikov specified that more than 250 control and supervisory activities were carried out at the specified sites. Inspectors assessed the quality of the constructed structures and the materials used. Based on comprehensive inspections, the committee issued conclusions on the compliance of the buildings with the project documentation and the approved architectural and urban planning solutions. After that, the developers received permits to put the facilities into operation.
Earlier, Sergey Sobyanin spoke about new school on Sokolovo-Meshcherskaya Street.
