The share of cashless transactions in retail turnover based on the results of the second quarter of 2026 decreased slightly (by 0.5 percentage points), amounting to 88.4%. This is due to the fact that citizens paid with cash more in April–June than in the first quarter. Thus, the growth rates of cashless payments turned out to be slightly lower than the growth rates of cash.

At the same time, citizens continued to actively use cashless payment methods for purchases and services. Many prefer alternatives to cards. Their share of the total volume of cashless payments increased by 0.2 percentage points compared to the first quarter, reaching 15.1%. The most noticeable increase was in the use of QR codes and biometrics. During the quarter, 1.1 billion purchases were made using these methods, totaling 1.7 trillion rubles – 18% more in number and 13% more in volume than in the previous quarter.

Payment via Bluetooth is gaining popularity. In the second quarter, citizens made 86 million such transactions totaling 64 billion rubles. Compared to the previous quarter, the number of transactions increased by 30%, and the volume by 17%.

Overall, during the reporting period, bank clients — both individuals and companies — made 32.1 billion transactions amounting to 491.5 trillion rubles. Compared to the first quarter, this represents a growth of 9.9% in the number of transactions and 12.8% in transaction volume.
