Incident in Cyprus

UN peacekeepers in Cyprus have increased patrolling in the Pyla area after an unauthorized entry of Turkish Cypriot security forces into the buffer zone. The mission emphasized that any such actions violate its mandate and threaten stability. The UN interacts with all parties to restore the status quo and prevent further escalation. Maintaining calm in the buffer zone remains a priority for the mission.

Visit of the Secretary-General’s special representative in Kyiv

Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict Vanessa Frezier is on a visit to Ukraine. She holds meetings with government representatives, civil society, and UN system officials, during which the protection of children affected by the conflict and new cooperation opportunities are discussed. Frezier will also engage with civil society organizations, UN system representatives, and other interested parties.
