In Moscow, the additional period for taking the Basic State Exam (OGE) has begun and will continue until September 25 inclusive. During these days, ninth graders who were unable to participate in the main period for valid reasons, as well as students who received unsatisfactory results, will take the exams. This was reported by the press service of the capital Department of Education and Science.
“This year, more than four thousand ninth graders will take the OGE in the additional period. On September 3, participants of the additional period will take the math exam, on September 7 — Russian language, on September 10 — physics, history, biology, geography, and on September 14 — literature, social studies, chemistry, foreign languages, computer science. Reserve days are scheduled from September 21 to 25,” the press service of the department noted.
To be allowed to take the exams, students must have annual grades of at least satisfactory in all subjects, pass the final oral exam in Russian language, and there must also be a decision by the school’s pedagogical council.
In 2026, OGE tasks are completed more often on a computer than in writing. Now, ninth graders take nine out of 14 subjects on computers: computer science, geography, physics, biology, history, and foreign languages — English, German, French, and Spanish.
For the additional period of the OGE in the capital, 53 exam sites have been organized. More than two thousand people will ensure their operation. Participants will be able to view the results in their personal account on the mos.ru portal or at their school.

This year, more than 127 thousand people participated in the early and main periods of the OGE. They showed record results. Thus, the number of students who received “excellent” grades in four exams increased 1.7 times compared to 2025 — up to 12.7 thousand people. And the number of ninth graders who received grades no lower than four in all exams, excluding those with all excellent grades, increased by 14 percent — up to 37.5 thousand people.

The average integral USE score in Moscow is already eight points higher than the national average.
